Welcome to the Clarke N. Johnsen Counseling Department

What is a student's "PCCR"?
The "Plan for College & Career Readiness" (PCCR) is an approach to individual student planning in which school counselors help students make successful transitions from grade level to grade level and set future plans. School counselors help students identify their interests, strengths, and abilities as students work towards setting goals.
7th graders - 1st semester / 8th graders - 2nd semester
This year, counselors will meet individually with both 7th & 8th graders and their parent/guardian in a 15-20 minute PCCR appointment. During the 1st semester (Sept - Jan) counselors will be meeting with 7th graders. During the 2nd semester, (Jan-May) counselors will be meeting with 8th graders, appointments open up Jan. 26th for 8th.
Important dates! 8th graders appointments: click on your student's counselor's Calendly link to make your appointment.  They can be made starting Jan. 26, 2022!
PCCR's for 8th grade students are starting soon! Students will be pulled out of class and their PCCR held without a parent/guardian if their appointment for a Semester 2 PCCR is not scheduled on Calendly by Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022. Counselors are required to meet with students and we encourage all parent/guardians to attend with their student if they are able. EVENING PCCR's: March 8 & March 15, 2022 (5-7pm) need to call or email your student's counselor directly as these appts can't be scheduled through Calendly.
Please schedule now! All 8th graders!
Scheduling now allows you to select the day/time that works best for your schedule. Counselors will assign appointments to students if a parent/guardian has not made an appointment by the deadline (2/15) and will start meeting with students beginning on Feb. 16, 2022. We look forward to meeting with you and your student! Click on your counselor's Calendly link to schedule your PCCR.  PLEASE TYPE IN YOUR STUDENTS NAME (not the parent/guardian) SO WE KNOW WHO THE APPT IS FOR.

Lunch and learns are an opportunity for students to be introduced to different programs that will be available to them in high school in CTE (career and technical education).  Each month, students are invited to sign up and attend.  They are held in Mrs. Hitesman's room during all 3 lunches.  Students attend during their lunch period and are provided a lunch while they sit and listen to a presentation on the topic for the month.
