Through service-learning, students learn work ethic, commitment, and empathy, no matter what their circumstances are.
Many students volunteer time, conduct food drives, and organize fundraisers to help support families in the community. Often, service-learning projects become traditions at the school and carry on for many years. Students anticipate and look forward to participating in these traditions. It shows them they can make a difference and impact people’s lives within our community.
Through service-learning students become mindful of the needs of the community as well as the various programs and services available. Service-learning may help students discover a new passion or interest. By participating in volunteer opportunities students are able to meet new people, make new friends, and work alongside others who care about improving the community.
A big shout out to all students and staff of Tooele County School District who have donated food, volunteered their time, and worked hard to raise money to help families in our community during this special time of year and throughout the school year.
Have a happy and safe holiday season!
